Payment
May we gently remind our pet owners that all veterinary care must be paid for at the time of treatment. Payments can be made using debit/credit cards and cash - we can no longer accept payments by cheque. We can also take payments over the phone using a debit/credit card.
Spread the cost To help spread the cost of your pet's routine veterinary pet care, why not consider joining our Pet Health Club - members benefit from a low monthly payment scheme and discounts.
Insurance claims Please sign and complete your section of your insurance form
before giving it to us. After the vet has signed it, we will send it to
insurance company for you. Your insurer will pay you direct. If you
currently don't have pet insurance, this may be something you may like to consider.
Financial help with veterinary costs If you are on benefits and need help paying for your pet's surgery, there are agencies who may be able to help.
Pet insurance
With better treatments and advanced technologies pets are living to a greater age. Many treatments and procedures may be costly and insurance can bring peace of mind that you can afford the best care for your pet.
We appreciate there are many different pet insurance schemes and you may have researched this. We suggest that not all the same. Some insurers may appear to offer good value but on closer inspection have great shortcomings. For example, many will not pay out for a health condition lasting for more than a year - very difficult if your pet develops diabetes, or a similar life long condition, that requires life long medication. Some cheaper policies also may not cover the cost of dental care - and 70% of dogs and cats suffer from dental disease. Often the cost of your insuring your pet may be increased as your pet gets older or you make a claim, and some companies may also not be prompt about paying you for your claims.
Although pre-existing conditions will not be covered by your
insurer, make sure that the company does not exclude previously claimed
for conditions at insurance renewal time and that cover doesn't stop at
a certain age.
We recommend Our experience dealing with many insurers and policies over the years means we are confident in recommending our pet owners insure their pets with PetPlan. Even though PetPlan may be slightly more expensive than others, it appears to give the most benefits and prove the most reliable in paying claims. Of course there may be others, but this is our independent recommendation. Please note that Bruton Vets does not benefit from this recommendation.
