New patients

New patients can be new pets moving into the area, or 'new' in the sense of puppies and kittens! Registration with our surgery only takes a few minutes. An appointment with a vet is not required unless your pet is on medication. Registration can be competed over the phone or at the surgery. You will need to fill in a registration form for our files. These are available from us at the surgery, or click on this pdf file to open it. You can then print out a copy.

Seeing a vet

An appointment with one of our veterinary surgeons means your pet will be seen by a highly qualified and experienced animal practitioner. An appointment with a vet is usually fifteen minutes. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your pets feeling their best. We always stress the importance of an annual physical examination to help spot any potential health problems before they develop further.

Seeing a vet nurse

An appointment to see our veterinary nurses for simple procedures such as wound dressing, nail clipping, dietary or care advice are always available. Nurse appointments are often a cost effective way of receiving qualified help and support, and can give pet owners peace of mind. A nurse can spot any underlying health conditions that may require veterinary help before they develop into serious conditions. Our nurses also run our FREE Vet Nurse Clinics for our pet owners.

Home visits

We can also make home visits to see your pet if you pet is very sick or you are unable to come to the surgery. Please call as far in advance to book as you can, as we need time to arrange these visits around our in-surgery appointments. Please be aware that these visits are more expensive than when you bring your pet in to see us.

Coming in for surgery

Read about preparing your pet for surgery and download information sheets about how to prepare your pet for surgery here.

On the day of the surgery small animals should arrive in secure travel cages. Your pet's time of arrival is usually arranged when booking the operation as we like to explain more about the procedure your pet is undergoing, go through the consent form you will be required to sign and answer any questions you may have.

If your pet is staying with us for a while to recover from their surgery the nurse will arrange suitable visiting appointment times with you.

Discharge times will be arranged when we contact you with an update on your pet. The time is dependent on different factors such as how well the patient is on waking up and whether you need to see the vet to discuss any medication and after care. An appointment for a post-operative check up will also be booked.
